I don’t know about you guys. But I LOVE getting letters in the mail.
To me, there is nothing more exciting than walking to your mail box, opening said mail box, and seeing a little square shaped envelope with your name and address written on the front. It instantly puts a smile on my face!
Since I’ve moved to Florida I’ve gotten letter/cards from a couple of my friends and I cannot tell you how happy it has made me.
There is just something so much more personal in getting a handwritten card or letter from someone you care about. Seeing someone’s handwriting gives you a little more of that person and lets you know them better.
Writing a letter means that someone has taken a few minutes out of their day to scribble a few thoughtful words to you because they care.
My mom has letters that my Gran wrote to her after she went off to college, after she got married, and after she had my brother and me. One of my favorite things to do is sit and read through those letters. I didn’t get to know my Gran as well as the other grandkids on my mom’s side of the family because she passed away before I was old enough to really remember her. So reading the letters she wrote to my mom helps me know her better.
(She and my mom have the same handwriting and I love it!)
Today I got a letter from my good friend Ashtyn. She and I decided that we would write letters when I moved out here to Florida and this was her first letter to me!
(Gotta keep the creepers away)
I wish we still wrote letters to each other.
It is old-fashion and classic.
Write a letter to someone you care about and see if it doesn’t just make their day! 🙂
