Day two of Ashley’s vacation to sunny Florida was spent laying on the beach in St. Augustine.
Yes, this was the 3 times in one month that I have been to St. Augustine. I can’t help it, I love this city.
We didn’t take any pictures because we forgot and because I really don’t like taking pictures of myself in a swim suit. gross.
Day three however, was the most exciting.
Ashley and I FINALLY went to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios.
We have been waiting to go to this place since we first heard they were building it about 4 or 5 years ago.
So this was a pretty epic day in the history of our friendship.
We started the day bright and early, getting there jut before the park opened.
(And now the rest of this post will be a story in pictures.)
Entrance to the village.
Only thing that threw me off was the fact that it was over 100 degrees outside and there is fake snow on the roofs. Fail Universal.
First ride: Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey or The Greatest Attraction ever made.
Welcome to the Greenhouse. We love Herbology.
The Sorting Hat.
I’m a Gryffindor.
On the ride!
The intro music played in your ears and I may or may not have gotten teary eyed.
My new favorite castle.
Flight of the Hippogriff. Cool queue…shortest ride EVER.
Seriously, I blinked and it was over.
Queue to the Triwizard Tournament Dragon Challenge coaster.
Yeah we bought wands and put on robes.
(yeah I’m nerdy)
I bought Hermione’s wand and Ashley bought Ron’s.
Cornish Pasties for lunch.
Back entrance to the village.
BEST BEVERAGE EVER!
In line to see Ollivander’s. The umbrella helped keep us cool. NOT. It felt like death out there.
Got to see my friend JP. Not only does he work there he was actually IN the Harry Potter films.
(He’s the Death Eater who kills Hedwig in Deathly Hallows Part 1. So sad.)
One last view of Hogwarts…..
And of Hogsmeade.
Harry Potter world was definitely the best end we could have had to our best friend trip.
PS. I got access to Pottermore the next morning!
I am now on a Harry Potter kick and have begun re-reading them from the beginning.
