Book Club Friday: The Pact

I haven’t done this link up:
in a while, so I figured I would since I just finished reading a pretty good book!
This week I’m sharing:
Here’s the synopsis:
From Jodi Picoult, one of the most powerful writers in contemporary fiction, comes a riveting, timely, heartbreaking, and terrifying novel of families in anguish — and friendships ripped apart by inconceivable violence. Until the phone calls came at 3:00 A.M. on a November morning, the Golds and their neighbors, the Hartes, had been inseparable. It was no surprise to anyone when their teenage children, Chris and Emily, began showing signs that their relationship was moving beyond that of lifelong friends. But now seventeen-year-old Emily has been shot to death by her beloved and devoted Chris as part of an apparent suicide pact — leaving two devastated families stranded in the dark and dense predawn, desperate for answers about an unthinkable act and the children they never really knew.
I have only read the beginning of one other Jodi Picoult book and I was kinda weary about reading this one.
I’ve heard all her other books are really sad.
Well be prepared because this one is no different.  It is really good and I’m glad I read it but you won’t come away with a very happy ending.
So be prepared.
But I really liked it.  It was very well written and well thought out.
I cried.  A lot.
Again be prepared.
Well on that happy note, I hope you all have a great weekend! 🙂
PS. I have a new blog design!
What do you think?!
I LOVE IT! 🙂

  1. i actually just grabbed this one at the library the other day along with another one by her. I've read most of her books and sometimes I really just can't deal with all the sadness in them…but I'm reading them anyway. Love the new look of the blog btw 🙂
