I have some sad news today friends.
My sweet little Beau got adopted.
I got the call on Monday while I was driving into work. Florida Little Dog Rescue said they had an interested applicant. A 23 year old grad student. It was then up to me to get in touch with her and set up a meet and greet. I had to try so hard to hold back the tears that had started to form behind my eyes.
Let me tell you, WORST FEELING EVER!
When I got to work I pretty much bawled for the first 30 minutes. I really did not want to give up my sweet puppy.
Then I had to remind myself that this was always just temporary situation. Because financially it would not be smart to have a dog. And I know that. But it didn’t make it any harder knowing that he would be leaving me.
So yesterday I gave the girl a call and we set up to meet at my apartment at 3 that afternoon. Worst part was, if she liked him and had the money to adopt him, she could take him right from the meet and greet.
And of course she loved him. He really seemed to like her too, although throughout the meeting he would keep coming back to me.
But I know she is going to take good care of him and that he’ll be happy.
That was the last foster dog I will ever have. I got way too attached and have no desire to go through that again.
The next pet I have (which will most likely be a cat) is going to be mine.
I snapped a few picture on our last afternoon together.
Have fun with your new momma Beau!
