Oh Hey Friday

The first week of March is already behind us.  But I’m not complain because I have a lot of great things to look forward to this month!  Most of which revolve around the fact that it’s my birthday month!  🙂

This week was pretty easy going.  It was a happy mixture of an easy work week and laid back evenings.  Here were my top 5 from the week!

[one] For a solid 24 hours this week, my Instagram account was deactivated by Instagram.  I have no idea why it was deactivated in the first place and when they reactivated it, Instagram offered no explanation.  Just a, “sorry for the inconvenience, you account is reactivate” email.  All I know is that Instagram is my number one social media outlet and being without it fro 24 hours was weird (#instaobsessed).  It was fun getting messages from everyone one asking me why I was blowing up with comments, tags, and likes though.  #firstworldproblems

[two] I’ve been on a blogger high all week and yes it’s still thanks to Thrive.  I promise, next week will have actual content that doesn’t revolve around the conference.  But I loved it that much y’all!

[three] We are one week away from Spring Break and I am so ready I can hardly stand it.

[four]  I had another fantastic surprise from Go Ahead Tours.  The interview I did with them, that you can read here, was also printed in their latest brochure (headshot and all!) and they sent me a Lonely Planet Travel Photography book as a thank you for taking part!

[five] This week Ashley from The Wandering Weekenders and I will be going around Houston looking (and taking pictures, obviously) at all the murals in the city.  We’re also both March babies so we have some fun ideas planned for a “March babies” photo shoot.  Follow along on Instagram and Snapchat (hers not mine, I suck at remembering to Snap things) to see all out fun! 🙂

I’m happy to see the weekend as I’m sure everyone else is too! 🙂

Catch ya Monday!  Linking up for Oh Hey Friday!

  1. I went on a couple of dates with my husband before I felt a spark (we actually got engaged less than two months later!). But if you just have a bad feeling and want to trust it, I don't blame you.

  3. It's great to hear your passport came so quickly, because renewing mine has been on my to-do list for awhile. I was so scared of Tinder for months but eventually gave into it, and wound up meeting my current boyfriend through it…so, you never know! 🙂

  6. Those drawings are so amazing! I'm going to have to go look up their Etsy shop because I would love to get one done of Dart! I was seriously so sad when I found out that Alan Rickman passed away! He's been in so many movies, but like you I loved him as Snape! Have fun watching the Star Wars movies! The original three are amazing, but you might fall asleep during Episodes 1-3. I totally didn't know that you have Snapchat! You have to add me! I'm @ashleylillis. I hope that you have a super three day weekend, I'm super jealous!

  7. Super cute hair cut! I was also very sad to hear about the passing of Alan Rickman since I grew up watching Harry Potter. I am actually going to the Harry Potter worlds in Florida next month so we are going to have a Harry Potter marathon this weekend. Good luck watching all the Star Wars movies, I couldn't get past the first one!

  8. I love the Throne of Glass series! It's so good! And yeah, kids can be mean and cruel and in my opinion it all comes back to parenting. If I ever did something like that, I wouldn't have been able to sit for a week. When kids aren't taught to respect their parents, things like that happen. I'm sorry you had to experience something like that 😦

  9. Oh dear, your #5 is so upsetting! I couldn't even believe what I was reading. I'm sorry you had to go through that. 😦 I remember the middle school years being tough ones. There is so much maturing after those years, you know? (Hopefully haha)! You shouldn't take any of their hurtful words seriously, because from what I can tell as a new reader of your blog, you seem wonderful and super genuine! 🙂

  10. I used to work at Marshalls, and they get the BEST furniture! It's really a steal and great quality stuff. I'm so sorry about the students..what a bunch of jerks. I hope you don't take any of that personally. Middle school just sucks! Thank you for joining our linkup and I hope you have a fantastic, relaxing weekend.

  11. oh girl i am SO sorry about what happened at school. that is horrible. i can't believe kids these days, though i am sure our teachers thought the same about us and so forth. though i am very glad we didn't have the internet when i was a teenager!! i really am sorry. my husband is a teacher and although he teaches special ed, he got rid of his facebook. he has instagram but never uses it, and i just post all the things for us and our families, but he had to get rid of it because of the parents, not the kids. but anyway. rambling.i LOVED throne of glass. please update me when you have read the first, then the second… then the third.. and the fourth. HAHA. seriously. i haven't read the prequels because I am weird about short stories until a series is finished – i had one ruin something for me once and it annoyed me to no end. so i don't read them until the end now. but anyway. not kidding, let me know when you have read the book(s) and tell me your thoughts. i hope that is not too creepy hahaha.thank you so much for linking up with Gretch and I! hope next week is better at school.

  12. Those chairs, I loooove. I wish I had a chance to have my own girly apartment before I had to share with an opinionated boy. I can't believe that about those kids. Or I guess I can, we had kids secretly videoing teachers at my old (elementary) school and posting them on you tube making fun of them. The lack of respect these days is appalling.

  13. I'm so sorry that your kids did that to all the teachers at the school! I don't understand how they can't see how hurtful their comments are to others. I mean, it has to be happening to them too, right? I'm glad that some of them came back and apologized to you though! At least there's hope, like you said! On to the good stuff you talked about, I'm so glad that you got your business cards created, I know you were wondering what to do about them a few weeks ago. I also love the chairs you found! They're so cute! And I seriously need to get on the Throne of Glass bandwagon! I know I'll love them as soon as I start reading them!

  14. It sounds like you've had an awesome week. Oh my gosh your cat is adorable! I need to start putting more effort into my work clothes, I'm embarrassed to say this but I have my own personal style which does t really make sense to anyone else else. Anyway, happy Friday!

  15. It always amazes me too how fast pets grow up! It's like one second they're falling over their feet and then they're finally in control of themselves and twice the size they just were. Hooray for your blog business cards! I love how pretty they turned out and your picture turned out awesome! I think that's awesome that you're practicing so much with your camera! That's one thing I need to work on!
